Zendaya sparked internet chaos early last year after unfollowing boyfriend Tom Holland on Instagram, triggering a wave of breakup speculation among fans.
The social-media purge, part of a full clearing of her following list, left followers panicked and scrambling for answers.
Within minutes, fan pages were flooded with alarmed messages.
“Whyyyy did Zendaya remove Tom from Instagram???? Mama miaaaa don't let it be…” one user pleaded.
Another wrote: “Break up news is coming I fear,” while a third begged: “For the glory of my mother! Don’t scare me like that.”
Despite the frenzy, the truth was far less dramatic.
TMZ caught up with Holland as speculation mounted.
When asked: “Have you split up with Zendaya?” he responded unequivocally: “No, absolutely not.”

The Spider-Man star’s reassurance immediately calmed fans, confirming that Zendaya’s unfollowing spree was merely a digital clean-up rather than a reflection of any relationship trouble.
Zendaya and Holland first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 and have since maintained a famously private relationship.
They went public with dating rumors in 2021 but continue to shield their personal lives from constant media attention.
Holland has frequently spoken about how Zendaya grounds him.
On the Dish from Waitrose podcast, he joked about studio rules regarding shared hotel rooms before calling her “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Zendaya has reciprocated, telling Vanity Fair that working with Holland feels “strangely comfortable” and praising him as “so talented” and “so passionate about what he does.”
Adding to the whirlwind, fans were briefly misled by an engagement announcement in The Boston Globe, featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
The notice, showing the two actors in wedding-style poses, appeared authentic – until the fictional names Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson revealed it was a playful promotional stunt.
The ad was tied to The Drama, their upcoming A24 film about an engaged couple whose wedding week goes awry.
The faux newspaper notice doubled as the film’s poster and was shared widely on social media, even by Zendaya herself.
Despite the viral Instagram rumors and faux engagement buzz, Holland and Zendaya remain firmly together.
The unfollowing was simply a routine account refresh, and the ‘engagement’ exists only within the fictional world of The Drama.
For now, the couple continues their low-key but solid relationship, balancing privacy with professional life – and leaving fans relieved that real-life love is untouched by social-media panic.
