Ricky Martin has opened up about his nephew's allegations.
In a new video obtained by TMZ, the Puerto Rican star broke his silence for the first time since his nephew claimed that they'd had a sexual relationship.
Martin's nephew obtained a temporary restraining order against him, saying that he had reacted badly to the end of their seven-month sexual relationship by stalking him.
However, the accuser withdrew his allegations yesterday in court, and the case was archived per Sky News.
In the wake of his legal victory, Martin addressed fans directly, explaining that he had not been able to defend himself publicly until after his court appearance.
"For two weeks I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk until I was in front of a judge," he said.
The 'Living La Vida Loca' singer went on to describe the past two weeks as a "devastating" time, saying: "It has been so painful, it has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends."
He went on to address his nephew. "To the person who was claiming this nonsense - I wish him the best, and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anyone else," he said.
The singer then concluded by explaining that he hopes to heal "with music", adding: "I cannot wait to be back on stage."
"Thank you to all of my friends, thank you to all the fans who believed in me. You have no idea the strength you gave to me," he concluded, saying: "I wish you love and light."
According to Martin's lawyers, his nephew made the false allegations because of his own mental illness issues.
"This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them," they wrote in a statement.
"We are glad that our client saw justice and can now move forward with his life and his career," they added.
